JDL, Inc. doesn’t use cookies or other means of tracking personal information of visitors to our web sites.

When a visitor clicks on a link to a merchant, on one of our web sites, they will receive one or more cookies. On merchant sites, a cookie is used as a small piece of information to provide better functionality for their users.

Most merchants use two types of cookies to recognize visitors and to help remember shopping list items (generally, no personal information is stored in a merchants cookie). Merchants use transient cookies to provide continuity from page to page. Within a single visit, these cookies store session information and are only used to simplify the checkout process. JDL, Inc.’s affiliate merchants use persistent cookies to identify visitors coming from our sites. These cookies DO NOT contain personal information and are only used for promotional and discounting purposes.

Information We Collect While You Browse Our Website

We do not access information about your identity while you browse our websites. You remain anonymous to us. While you view our site, like most standard web site servers, our system tracks the browser type, platform type, entry/exit pages, pages you visit, the pages you download, the site you came from, date/time stamp, and notes your IP address (but not your identity). We use the information to analyze site usage, administer the site, understand usage and navigation trends in aggregate, and determine the relevance of content. This information, however, is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

Affiliate Marketing Programs

Affiliate marketing programs are generally programs wherein the affiliate is paid for performance. The affiliate company that presents links to merchants is called a publishers. The merchants are called advertisers. Each advertiser presents very strict terms and conditions as to how a publisher can conducts business as an Affiliate. The publisher must agree to the Advertisers terms and conditions or said publisher be will not be allowed to conduct business as an affiliate.

How the publisher gets paid? When you follow a link to a merchant and buy one of their products, the merchant pays the Publisher a commission in accordance with the terms and conditions of said merchant. The merchant pays the publisher trough an affiliate marketing program management company.

Affiliate marketing program management companies manage the affiliates through strict terms and conditions that govern the actions of all three parties. They require all parties to conspicuously post privacy policies on their web sites and otherwise make it available to all visitors. Their privacy policies must comply with all laws and regulations regarding the privacy of visitor information, be commercially reasonable, and fully and accurately disclose their collection and use of Visitor information. They must fully and accurately disclose affiliates use of third party technology, including tracking technology.

The program management companies use sophisticated tracking technology to assure that terms and conditions, of publishers and merchants, are adhered thereto. Publishers and merchants are screened prior to joining the manager’s programs.
